I walk dogs here and they love this walk beside the river. The only drawback is once you're walking along the old railway, which is parallel to a golf club, dogs want to play on the greens but the Club is too mean to put up a proper fence between the walkway and their grounds, relying instead on a single strand of wire and a plethora of signs saying Private: Keep Out. It makes the dog walk potentially stressful as occasionally the temptation to chase a golf ball becomes too much for canines who can't read!
Good place to take kids, dog walking or just to kill time...Has a nice playground nearby Nothing very special but a good place to visit if you live or passing by. Doesn't worth a long journey just for it.
Such a glorious area to visit. My son loves the play area and my dog loves the open space to have a good run about. The spring is beautiful, it's just a shame that on hot days you find people putting bubble bath in the water near the stepping stones which is not good for the fish and local wildlife
Lovely place. Very well kept, the river is beautiful. The thing i noticed about this is the further on your walk around this place the better it becomes. Nice seating area for a picnic and big grass area to enjoy. Hidden places as you walk through, the river winds of into the bushes. The main feature of Batford springs is the stepping stones and enjoying the walk across them, i enjoyed this myself, The water was high and almost touched the top of the stones. The water sounded so lovely gushing down stream, it moves fast. A great place to visit for anyone of any age. I highly recommend this place.
Nice local park to spend maybe a couple of hours with the children. The play area is much better than it used to be, nice springs to walk around spotting fish and wildlife. I wish they had put a few more benches in the play area for parents to have a sit down.
